Alumni of Everest Film Academy at Berlin Film Festival 2024

The Nepali short film, ‘Songs of Love and Hate,’ directed by Saurav Ghimire, received the Special Mention Award at the Berlin Film Festival. With a runtime of 17 minutes, this cinematic creation was produced by Minso Limbu and Min Bahadur Bham under the banners of Junko Pictures and Shooney Films.

Selected in the Generation 14 plus section of the festival, the film unfolds the narrative of a radio program presenter, depicting the scenario when a love advice radio show host mysteriously disappears following a personal relationship breakup. Notably, both Mr. Saurav and Mr. Minsho have embarked on their filmmaking journey at Everest Film Academy, specializing in direction. They are proud alumni of Everest Film Academy’s 5th batch.

Furthermore, it is noteworthy that Mr. Saurav, the director of ‘Songs of Love and Hate,’ previously directed the film ‘Barking Dogs,’ which earned the Best Experimental Film award at the 16th Tasveer South Asian Film Festival. This film served as the final project of his one year diploma course at Everest Film Academy.

Adding to the list of achievements, ‘JUNKO,’ a film directed by Minsho Limbu, which was the final project of his one year diploma course at Everest Film Academy, emerged winner as the Best National Short Film at NIFF 2023 and 4 other international film festivals. Additionally, It was also officially selected in 24 prestigious international film festivals.
