The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival’s 2023 lineup is a grand showcase of cinematic excellence, featuring over 250 films that will grace the screen over the course of 10 days, from October 27 to November 5. This year’s curation is particularly special, as it includes more than 40 World Premieres, 45 Asia Premieres, and over 70 South Asia Premieres. What’s even more astounding is the record-breaking number of over 1000 submissions for the South Asia programme.
The festival’s promise is to shine a spotlight on contemporary films and emerging cinematic talents from South Asia, making it an exciting platform for artists and film enthusiasts alike.
Among all those 1000 submissions, Bidushi Giri, a student from the 6th batch of the Direction Department at Everest Film Academy, has achieved a remarkable feat. Her short film, “Chiso Ghar” has earned a nomination at the prestigious JIO MUMBAI FILM FESTIVAL. This is an immensely proud moment for Everest Film Academy.

This short film, titled “CHISO GHAR”, is directed by Bidushi Giri and produced by Everest Film Academy, Simal Cinema, and Third Dimension Pictures. The cast includes Sonika Thakuri, Sarita Giri, Lokendra Lekhak, Subash Bomjan, and Maria Karki. The cinematography is expertly handled by Chakra Maharjan, while the editing is done by Pasang Dawa Sherpa. The color grading is masterfully executed by Rajendra Moktan, and the sound design is crafted by Bipin Sthapit. Sudil Dhital serves as the re-recording mixer, and Mani Ratna Tripathi takes on the role of sound editor.
